Domestic Violence & Teen Dating Violence are Public Safety Issues

According to the CDC, dating violence is a serious problem in the United States.  Many teens do not report it because they are afraid to tell friends and family.

Among adult victims of rape, physical violence and/or stalking, by an intimate partner, 22.4% of women and 15% of men first experienced some form of partner violence between the ages 11 and 17 years old.

1 in 3 teens report being hit, slapped or physically hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend.

Verbal, emotional, psychological, sexual and financial abuse are also forms of domestic violence and dating violence.
